Car sharing is becoming more and more popular, but many are still not quite sure what car sharing is, how it works and how it compares to other means of transportation. How much does it cost? Do you have to pay for fuel? What happens when the car has to be returned? Such questions are often raised by people who are enthusiastic about the idea but sceptical about the practicality of using car sharing services in their daily lives. That is why we decided to explore the details of car sharing services and answer our frequently asked questions in this article.
Car sharing versus renting a car
The first thing you need to know is that car sharing is a type of car rental. It differs from the usual car rental in a way that is suitable for people who want to rent a car for a short period (e.g. several hours). Another difference is that car sharing is more practical because it allows access to the car at any time, not just during business hours.

How does car sharing work?
In practice, car sharing is a very simple process. With the Giro app, smart search filters let you find the exact car you're looking for in your area. Using your smartphone, you can find a car amongst hundreds of different makes and models and rent it in a few easy steps. However, since the Giro app also supports in-app communication, you can easily arrange a pickup location and time with the car owner.
How is insurance regulated?
Because we want the best for our customers, we have partnered with insurance company Zavarovalnica Triglav d.d., which provides a unique insurance package for some of the vehicles.
Sounds great, how can I get involved?
If you want to get involved in the increasingly popular world of car sharing services, you have two options - you can use the app to rent a car or list your car and earn extra money. To rent a car, simply use the search engine, select a car and submit a booking request. If you want to rent your car to others, fill in the information in the application and upload photos of your car.
